Curriculum

Kids ‘R’ Kids of Wentzville is an outstanding educational facility with staff and teachers eager to aid in the development of young minds and bodies.  Here at Kids ‘R’ Kids we offer a curriculum that caters to the individual educational and emotional needs of each child, this curriculum sets Kids ‘R’ Kids apart from other childcare centers.  Our motto is “Hugged First~ Then Taught.”  Throughout each age group your child will be introduced to theme based units that include learning activities for science, math, language, literature, drama, music, and art.  At a young age children are introduced to sign language and Spanish.  We feel it is best to start the education of young minds early.  We take pride in offering a hands-on curriculum for all ages to ensure they are getting the best quality of learning that can be given.  At every stage of your child’s journey, Kids ‘R’ Kids develops new and challenging ways to open their mind and expand their imagination.  As your child continues to grow, so does the curriculum.  We have a full-time Curriculum Department at Kids ‘R’ Kids Corporate Headquarters with over 150 years of experience in classroom instruction, administrative assignments, and curriculum development.  These highly qualified educators are always expanding our curriculum which is unique and exclusive to Kids ‘R’ Kids Schools of Quality Learning.  Our curriculum meets the standards for NAEYC, the National Association of Education of Young Children, while remaining fun and flexible for every child.

Infant/Young Toddler Curriculum- Six weeks through 24 months

Kids ‘R’ Kids is a place for love, growth, and discovery.  The preschool for Infants program includes a comforting place that focuses on love and trust, sign language techniques to enhance communication skills, daily exercises to help with physical development, Spanish, and daily reports and weekly lesson plans to keep you informed and updated on your child’s development.  The four components of the Infant-Toddler program are language development, physical development, cognitive development and social and emotional development.  We believe in balancing fun with fitness and learning with laughter.

Toddler Curriculum- 2 through 3 years old

Toddlers are always on the move and Kids ‘R’ Kids understands their curiosity and readiness.  The toddler preschool program offers a curriculum that is challenging and kid paced to help fulfill these needs.  The curriculum offers hands-on projects designed to stimulate the mind, a structured learning plan, problem solving challenges and puzzles, a fun and safe environment for personal discovery and adventure, and an educational environment filled with science, math, language, drama, music, art, Spanish and more.  We also provide daily reports for you on the progress of your child, including information on naps, toilet training and meals.  Close attention is given to every toddler to maximize personal growth and lots of hugs and giggles are shared.  The Toddler program works to strengthen all aspects of their development such as building language through sign language skills, stories and songs to enhance imagination, creativity, fine and gross motor skills through everyday body movements and social interaction with other toddlers and their teachers

Preschool Curriculum- 3 through 4 years old

The educational pre school program has a well designed curriculum in combination with age-appropriate learning stations are two key components that contribute to each child’s development.  This curriculum includes a way of learning that is self-directed with help and encouragement from teachers.  Each week children will explore a theme during group times, reviews, daily enrichments, and each learning station.  Our preschool curriculum includes small group activities, literacy and writing, music, Spanish, emotional and social development, outdoor activities, daily enrichment activities to encourage imaginative and creative play, progress reports on child’s daily accomplishments and decision –making skills to support growing minds.  Our goal is to equip your child for the challenges ahead.

Pre-K Curriculum- 4 through 5 year olds

The Pre-K department teaches a Kindergarten curriculum that focuses on math, literacy, science, Spanish, music, art and writing.  Along with the curriculum your child will learn critical developmental skills through exploration of our learning stations.  The Construction station focuses on architecture, vocabulary, eye-hand coordination and cooperation.  Imagination station provides opportunity to develop social skills, self-confidence and respect.  Our Library and Literature station helps enhance listening skills, word recognition and oral language skills.  The Writing station gives a chance for self-expression, name recognition and eye-hand coordination.  The Exploration station deals with classification, problem solving and sequencing and the Discovery station focuses on experimentation, exploration and prediction.  Our Sensory station is centered around fine motor skills, measuring and creativity and the Music and Movement station helps with the child’s listening, teamwork, and patterning.  By offering small group activities, highly educational learning stations and one-on-one academic attention, Kids ‘R’ Kids offers the best foundation for your child to be well prepared for Kindergarten and future elementary school years.  

School Age Program- 5 through 12 year olds

Our School Age Program is designed to further enhance the children’s creativity, problem-solving, and decision making skills.  We offer an opportunity for the children to experience a fun and safe environment with a variety of activities and outside play.  This allows for the child to be involved in child-directed activities while staff encourages and monitors their progress.  We offer a Homework Club which is designed to give the children a quiet, supervised environment to complete their homework.  This leaves the evening time at home available for quality family interaction.  For the School Age program we offer media time with computers and a Wii, an age appropriate playground and fun, energetic staff to make your child’s day as enjoyable as possible.
